The Mercury Prize 1993

Click on an album to read more about it at Amazon. It is often said that Suede were the band that
started Britpop. If that is true then 1993 was the year the whole scene began. Suede won the
Mercury Prize this year with their self-titled debut album. Fellow nominee Sting missed out,
but would find himself up for a Best Album Grammy the following year.
