The Mercury Prize 1998

Click on an album to read more about it at Amazon. 1998 was a golden year for Gomez: the previously
unknown band won the Mercury Prize with their debut album, a success that was to launch their careers.
Another nominee this year was on the verge of even greater fame. Robbie Williams had last been
nominated for the Mercury Prize in 1994, as part of Take That. Life Thru A Lens was his first solo album.
